Hi, I'm Ruby.

I’ve always been drawn to people and their stories.

For me, photography has never really been about creating something perfect. It’s about holding onto something that won’t stay the same forever.

The way your toddler fits into your arms right now. The gap in their teeth. The way your children dissolve into giggles when they’re supposed to be standing nicely. The look between two people that happens without either of them realising.

Those ordinary little things have a habit of becoming the things we miss the most.

And I think they deserve to be photographed beautifully.

Why families?

Because families are wonderfully imperfect.

And because I know how easy it is to put photographs off.

Maybe you want to lose a little weight first. Maybe your children are going through a particularly feral stage. Maybe your partner hates having their photograph taken. Maybe being in front of a camera is approximately 147th on your list of favourite things to do.

Come anyway.

You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect family to deserve beautiful photographs.

I want to give you images that feel like you — photographs full of personality, movement, connection and all those tiny pieces of your family as it exists right now.

Because one day, right now will be something you’d give anything to step back into.

So… will I actually make you feel comfortable?

Yes. And you absolutely do not need to know how to pose.

I won’t spend an hour asking everyone to stand still, look at me and say cheese.

Instead, I’ll gently guide you. I might ask you to walk together, cuddle someone, whisper something ridiculous, chase the kids, scoop them up or simply focus on each other rather than my camera.

And your children?

They do not need to behave for me.

Seriously.

They can be shy. Loud. Silly. Clingy. Wild. Suspicious of the strange woman with the camera. They can need a snack five minutes in. We can stop. We can play. We can change direction completely.

I'm not waiting for your children to perform.

I'm waiting for them to be themselves.

That’s usually when the magic happens.

Your only job is to show up.

You don’t have to manufacture beautiful moments for me.

You just need to love your people.

I’ll take care of the rest.

And hopefully, somewhere between the cuddles, chaos and laughter, you’ll forget we’re even having a photoshoot.

You’ll just be together.

Every little piece of you, beautifully reflected.
